Anomelie, this sounds like a very stressful situation. But, most of the real estate investors on this forum are based in California.

Can anyone you know get entry to the house? If so, you need to find some piece of paper that has the foreclosure notice. It will have a phone nbr to call the Trustee for the foreclosure. If you have a death certificate available you should be able to call the trustee and prove 'next of kin' with the death certificate so that you can start a conversation regarding the foreclosure. Sometimes they will only speak to the borrower on the loan, so you may have to prove that he is not available to discuss the situation.

You can be pretty sure that the foreclosure and repossession of the house/belongings are not done in a very quick manner. There's still time - unless the foreclosure on the house already happened.
