I agree with Dond & Kristine. However, if you sold the property to a bonafide 3rd party purchaser, it would be pretty hard for Plaintiff to unwind the sale after the fact. As for attorney who did the UD, they either did it right or didn't. If they didn't, they ought to have E &O insurance which I believe could be tapped; maybe, maybe not. Also, you probably have a relationship with attorney (now, as we've talked about this privately).

My instincts tell me I'd sally forth and let the burden of proof continue to fall on the former owners. I know that you have a goofy judge in your area so you also have to weigh-in the possibility of a bad ruling (learned that one myself). However, it costs a lot to put on a good civil case in Superior court and the former owners, I'll bet, are just trying to shake you down for something more than they have now.
