I say don't worry about the validity of the UD at this point. If these people are in escrow to buy a house they probably need to take care of this asap.
Let them either pay you off an amount acceptable to you or they can spend money and time trying to vacate the judgment.

I'm curious though about what's required after a trustee's sale (I've only evicted tenants). It would make sense to name the owners and tenants, even if the owners live elsewhere. You're evicting for possession, and it's seems important to make sure former owner's rights for entry and possession are terminated. But if your eviction attorney's due diligence for service wasn't adequate, that's not good. I wonder if serving the property address is enough.
