Scott, not sure what your comment, "Basically it’s the dumb money crowd. " means or was intended to mean.

We have people from all over the US, representing major corporations, at the sale every year....NONE of them are what I would call UNSOPHISTICATED, they all know exactly what they are doing....and....have very precise instructions from their companies.

The over bid statute has been in effect since about 1992.

Before you can enter the sale,
you must put up $$$ you hope to bid,
execute a document saying you FULLY understand what you are doing,
and...that you fully understand that it is CAVEAT EMPTOR,
and if you over bid it is GONE.

No, unfortunately the overbid situation will NOT satisfy the county's desire for more $$$...never seen a politician who could not freely spend the taxpayers $$$.

The overbid each year is about the same...just a bit higher than normal this year.
