I see this happen a lot where an address is called with a just-released opening bid. The guys on the phones are scrambling around trying to get someone to tell them whether to bid or not and then they just start saying 'penny over' to keep it alive until they figure out whether they want to bid or not. Guess it backfired on them this week. What they really should do is ask the auctioneer to 'hold' it for XX minutes, but they can only ask for that if there are no other bidders.

I would never play that loose with my bidding, just my luck I would end up being the one that cannot get the bid undone!
