Sorry for the earlier messy response. First comment was directed at a situation whereby an owner dies leaving property vested in their name. Unless family, creditor(s), contingent personal rep/exec/admin/ or public admin takes action, property may just sit until some event becomes a catalyst.

Also, I meant to say that, sense you don't apear to be an investor trying to buy this property, others may not be so anxious to help you out. Posters seem to get more excited about rallying around a problem when they identify with the O.P's dilemma.
