Alas, so true. A few out there in virgin-land who have not (yet) been sued get cocky and boast that it's never happened to them. It's part of the real estate game. It sounds like poster DIS is learning while on-the-job. No fun.

A civil lawsuit is NOT about right and wrong; it's a dispute that may require the court to resolve.

I suggest the O.P. read old posts from the archives to get a sense of the legal experiences of others and. of course, how legal and other fees eat up any profit faster than a politician with an earmark inside a FEMA bill.

I strongly suggest the O.P. at least have a plan to salvage something but to write a check, pay the sleazoid, and get on with money-making ventures.
