Innovest Resource Management BBB Business Review

Expired Lis Pendens in Florida

January 30, 2012 12:08PM
Hello,

I have been researching an empty house in Tampa, FL for 2 months. The lis pendens was filed and recorded in Dec 2010. I just found some information that a lis pendens expires after one year if no judgment is made. The case is still open, per county docket. If this is true, does the case have to be closed and a new lis pendens gets filed? If no new lis pendens is filed, would that cause any transactions (i.e. auction sale) to be invalid?
Thanks!
