Recording Memorandum of Option - San DiegoI have a deal with an option to purchase, at about 80% of FMV. My profit would come by getting a retail buyer and then splitting the equity above the option price with the seller. Problem is, when I went to record the option, the recorder insisted that I submit a Preliminary Change of Ownership report. As no conveyance has occurred, my argument would be that this would not be necessary. Anyone in SD have experiences with recording Memorandums of Options? Thanks.
