Expensive? In Reply to: Re: title search course posted by James (NV) on June 23, 2003 at 7:19 PM : : James- : : You paint a very broad stroke with your brush. : I was referring to courses by the usual gurus, none of which, as far as I know, explain the nitty-gritty of performing a title search, and understanding what you find. Following forum posts gets you the easy stuff (what's a NoD, what's a trust deed, lien priority, etc). It does not help you walk into a recorder's office and know what the hell you're doing. I hadn't even heard about Ward till today, and his course is expensive enough to make one really think about it. Ward's training seems pretty fair priced to me if you really look at it, $3000 for 36 hours of one on one training amounts to something like $83 per hour, thats the cheapest attorney i've seen yet, I like to look at it like this, if your a mechanic you don't go buy your tools at walmart, you get them from snap-on which may cost 5-10 times as much but they will last forever, the same principle should apply to any trade if you are serious about it.
