: Ward,

: I thought that realtors were licensed and regulated by the state.

: So unless they break the law, they can behave as they please with only the local board to govern -

: Wow!! this is a HUGE surprise - what then is the DRE for??

: I guess that is in line with our experience that the majority of realtors we have come across are so ..... well, would have a tough time finding their way out of a paper bag!

: If someone reading this post is offended by my experience and is one of the minority of truely professional and competent realtors, to you i apologize ... but honestly your profession is wrought with incompetence and unfair practices - clean it up so we can have more respect PLEASE!!!

=======================

JK,

Sorry to surprise you so much, but yes, the local board of realtors is a PRIVATE organization with its own privately set rules–whereas the California Department of Real Estate enforces the state’s rules concerning real estate.
