Wait for their offer...

In Reply to: How to deal with the buyer's realtor. posted by Mirela28 on February 12, 2004 at 7:24 PM

: Hi

: I'm not familiar yet how to deal with a buyer's realtor.

: What steps do they take and what should I expect from them. Meaning are they the ones that I'll be dealing with or the buyer or both. And what is the initial contact? Is it a phone call from the realtor, or a fax or a mail offer.
: The buyer has seen the house 2 times and said that the realtor will contact us. What does that mean. What do I need to do and/or say if their realtor does contact me.

: Any response greatly appreciated. This is my first house that I'm selling by owner and I feel lost.

: Thank You,

: Mirela

Mirela,

The fact that the buyer has contracted with an agent to do their negotiations tells you to expect to work through that agent.

The buyer must have more than passing interest in the property, to come again for another look. Wait for the buyer’s agent to contact you with their offer. Once that happens either accept it or make them a counteroffer.

Hope this helps.
