DRE is as good as anyone...In Reply to: Who Do we write to? posted by JK on January 26, 2004 at 2:58 PM : Hello : We have a property manager managing a home on our behalf in CA. : There were some maintainence issues and the tenant is upset. THe story the manager gives contradicts the tenant's (no big surprise). : The big surprise is that when we asked the manager to meet with us to resolve the issue, they refused. Said our professional relationship is over. : This is absurd! - who do we talk to? The manager is the Broker so no immediate supervisor. : We would go to the local Board, but in the past have found this to be fruitless as they are like a "clique" and watch out for their own. : Can we write to the DRE? : Thank you for your help. ========================== JK, If you want to complain to the CA Dept. of Real Estate (DRE) it has to be in writing. Send it to the DRE district office closest to the property (i.e. San Diego, Los Angeles, Fresno, Oakland or Sacramento). It's courteous to carbon copy your complaint to the involved broker or salesperson. I guarantee you that a written complaint to the DRE will get investigated and shine some unwanted attention onto the broker.
