Tardy Auctioneer

Posted by JK on January 22, 2004 at 7:07 PM

Hello,

We have an auctioneer who is there on time but invariably starts the sales late.

One time he was chatting for a few minutes with someone and we asked him to please start as we were the only bidder. His delay allowed a competitor who was tardy to arrive and bid the price up significantly!

Is there anything we can do or any requirement that these Auctioneers be prompt? (in California).

Though we don't want to be paranoid, events such as the one above are getting a bit suspicious.

Thank you in advance for your replies.
