Here in CA if tenants have been there more than a year, you must use a 60 day notice. Less than a year, 30 days. And owners only 3 days. Your local Apartment Owners Assoc. can also provide free info on this matter. Hope this helps. Actually need only give a Tenant a 30 day notice in CA if the home was purchased from foreclosure. Futhermore, if you decided to sell a home, once the property is in escrow you only need to give a tenant a 30 day notice. Of course if it is a rent control area than local ordinances override: http://www.dca.ca.gov/legal/landlordbook/moving-out.htm#notices Foreclosures require a special form and I would ask your local eviction attorney for one. They will usually give you one if you explain that you are an investor and will be sending them some business. Follow Ups:
