Re: Make it a one-on-one activity...In Reply to: Make it a one-on-one activity... posted by Ward-CA- on December 29, 2003 at 12:53 AM : : Hi, : : My wife and I are ready to start looking for deals and have 4 investors (friends, colleagues, and family) that we are scheduled to meet with in January one of which is a 20 year REI veteran. : : Is there a good resource for how to handle the initial meetings? : : Thanks, : Kawika, : There are two books on the syndication of real property I can recommend: : 1. “Limited Liability Company For Group Investments” from first tuesday (Realty Publications) in Riverside, CA : 2. “Syndicating Single Family Homes” by Claire R. Fox, 1982 ISBN 0-9601530-6-3 : Both of these books suggest NOT hosting a group meeting with potential investors in lieu signing up your investors one by one. The theory is that just one sourpuss in a group can chill the enthusiasm of all the other attendees. : So I don’t take the risk. I sign up my investors one at a time. : **************** Ward, Thank you for the book list, I'll take a look at them. I didn't plan on doing a group thing because of the reasons you mentioned. Also, is it appropriate to send you email directly regarding your 3-day training session? I sent you an email to ward@foreclosureforum.com last week didn't hear back. If not I'll call instead. Thank you for your time, Follow Ups:
