My understanding is that the landlord is only responsible
to provide one working jack in the whole house. I myself have
a rental where I've refused to repair previously working jacks
because the kids have taken apart the jacks and wiring. There is
still one working jack there, but it's not "convenient" for my
tenant. Too bad, so sad.

Ironically, the working jack is in the kids room!

: Hello
: Question - (not a foreclosure) in CA we have a rental home.
: The people have some static in their phone line that the phone co says is inside. They have been in the home for over a year with no phone problems.
: What is our responsibility? They have some young boys that we can envision playing with the jacks - but obviously cannot prove anything. The home is on a concrete slab foundation.
: Any suggestions??
: Many Thanks!!
