Exigent circumstances call for immediate actionIn Reply to: 60 day notice posted by GCASTRO on September 02, 2003 at 3:13 PM : Ward, I have a property that needs a new roof. the water has been leaking inside for a while. Is it okey to do the new roof job (takes only a day) while the tenants are living there? Or would I have to get an okey from them? What if they don't want to be bothered with the noise? : Side Note: I gave them a 60 day notice, and they still have about 30 more days to go, but I want to go ahead and get the roof done before any further damage is done. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Gus, Under exigent circumstances you have the right to take immediate action to prevent any damage to your tenants' property and to your property. Who can tell when it might suddenly rain? Give your tenants as much notice as possible but I'd begin to re-roof as soon as I could.
