Re: Licensed RealtorIn Reply to: Licensed Realtor posted by Clare Albright on August 19, 2003 at 12:59 AM : I was about to help a homeowner whose home will be auctioned this Friday. : Then I remembered that my broker is liable for any errors I make. Do I need to quit being a realtor to do the deals? : Thank you! Clara, To answer your question, NO you don't have to give up your license. However becuase you are licensed you hold a greater responsibilty than the average Joe. You must inform the homeowner that you are licensed under the state as an agent. You may hear people tell you that being licensed is not a good idea. However under the state laws of California, ANY person who ingages in foreclosure work is subject to strict laws licensed or not. What area are you working in?
