Alternative to Foreclosure

Posted by Lea Kay on July 10, 2003 at 2:55 PM

My home is in foreclosure, and the 3 months to reinstate have expired. I requested an alternative to foreclosure over 4 months ago, and about mid-June received notice that the loss mitigation service needed another 60 days to render a decision. However, in the meantime, they required me to pay all late fees, legal fees and two month's worth of mortgage payments. I did so promptly. Now I am waiting for their decision on an alternative. They stated the foreclosure action would be suspended during this period, but resume if I did not begin making my mortgage payments regularly. I have done everything they asked. I am concerned about the next step and if they do post a date of sale, how long I will have to do something else to stop the foreclosure. Any and all comments will be appreciated.
