Junior EDD Lien is wiped off——Deja VuIn Reply to: EDD Lien - Addendum posted by Nohea on July 08, 2003 at 12:04 AM
: To recap: My Aunt's house (located in California) is in foreclosure. There are a couple of liens by the EDD which were recorded in 1997 and 1998. The total of the debt is quite substantial. : The foreclosure on the house is recent (the notice of foreclosure is dated March 2003). Unless my Aunt is able to get her house out of foreclosure, it will be sold at auction within the coming months. She would like to know the following: : 1. if the house is sold at auction, what will happen to liens placed by the EDD? : Any information you can provide is very much appreciated. : - Nohea : =-=-=-=--= Nohea, If the foreclosing lien was recorded earlier in time than the EDD liens, then that foreclosure will wipe off the title of the property the junior EDD liens. Though the liens will still exist against the original debtor, they won’t be against the title of the auctioned off property any more. Hope this helps Follow Ups: Post a Followup:
