Getting rid of a timeshare

Posted by Cherie on June 26, 2003 at 8:31 AM

Bought a relatively inexpensive timeshare 15 years ago, used it several times and am now stuck with it after a divorce. I listed it with Century21's timeshare division 2 years ago, they were to auction it off for nearly nothing, and that of course was the expected scam. But worth a try.
I've also offered it back to the resort for free and they refer me to someone who refers you to someone who never replies. They do offer an option to rent, but I've expected that is fruitless also.

The maintenance fees are $400 per year and I doubt Ill ever use it again, so Im wondering if anyone knows of a successful way to rid yourself of an unwanted timeshare at Myrtle Beach?
