Multiple indexing by name...In Reply to: Vesting Language posted by SeanW on June 25, 2003 at 4:13 PM : When using trusts, is there any reason the vesting language of a trust reads Trustee-Trust-Date? I.e. "Ted Cashman, Trustee of The Moneybucks Trust, under agreement dated 1/31/2000" : Would it still be valid as "The Moneybucks Trust, Ted Cashman as Trustee, under agreement dated 1/31/2000"? : (I'm thinking that a court recorder, that isn't familiar with trusts, might index land under the trustee's name... just because it appears first.) =•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•= Sean, If the names of A, B, & C appear on a recorded document, they will be indexed in the alphabetical grantee/grantor index multiple times, so that the LEADING name will be A one time, and B one time, and C one time. Thus it doesn't matter where their names actually appear on the recorded document since each will be the lead name in the alphabetical index because of the recorder's method of multiple indexing by name. So to avoid looking like an amateur to a title company, I prefer to use the traditional vesting of a trust, "Might E. Strange, Trustee of the Megabucks Trust, dated 6-25-03." Hope this helps.
