Re: Finding a Jail BirdIn Reply to: Re: Finding a Jail Bird posted by Bob on June 19, 2003 at 6:25 AM : : hello : : any sugggestions on how to locate a Trustor who the neighbors tell us is in Jail ?? : : when we locate the facility he is in - - - how do we contact him there and how do we get a notarized signature if we can work out an arrangement?? : : thank you : Lughead. Once you find him, call the jail and ask them how to send a letter to him. Lughead-- Most inmates in a state correctional facility have a counselor who is responsible for assisting them in situations where they need a third party. I have found them to be cordial and cooperative. Any monies due the inmate are held in a trust with the state having POA. There is a 30 day holding period before funds are available to the inmate. Inmates have access to an array of legal forms and a Notary is usually available to inmates a least once a week. It is suprisingly easy to communicate with an inmate... I hope this helps. -Rick
