Yes, don't, don't, don't under any circumstances...In Reply to: Any suggestions for renting a house back to previous owner? posted by bob on June 11, 2003 at 2:20 PM
: I bought a duplex three weeks ago in PA. The previous owner : Thank you : Bob =•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•= Bob, You haven’t indicated whether the purchase was a regular one or at a foreclosure auction. Since this site deals with foreclosure questions, I’m going to assume you acquired the property at a foreclosure auction. In these type of situations I always ask myself the question “In what way could it help me, hurt me, or is it just neutral”. My answer is: I don’t think it could help me and it could really hurt me if she interacts with prospective buyers viewing the property prior to resale. So I’d want the ex-owner as far away from the property as I could engineer. I’d certainly wouldn’t want her around where she could engage prospective buyers into conversations regarding the foreclosure and how she lost the property etc. To put a good face on it I’d explain I’m readying the property for resale and I need the place to be vacant to expedite the rehab as quickly as possible. Hope this helps. Follow Ups:
