If you are in CA and have a regular "residential purchase
agreement and joint escrow instructions" You should see
what is writen in 2g and 2h.
If you took the offer with a loan contingency (blank )
then you very much have to wait.
This is avoidable by making your counteroffer to state that
the loan contingency shall remain in effect until 20 days
after acceptance. Or just X 2h.
