There's no citation because the judge's ruling was never appealed.

All I can tell you is that it appeared as an article titled "Bank returns family's home", in the Orange County "Register", under the byline of Greg Hardesty, on October 23, 2002.

The parties involved were:
Judge: James P. Gray in Santa Ana Court
Trustors: Clara and Francisco Alonso
Beneficiary: Washington Mutual
Auction buyer: Greg Metcalf
