As for your being 'shocked' I must repeat a story that I understand to be true. It seems Mr. Webster, the famous dictionary publisher and editor during the 19th century, was caught by his wife embracing the chambermaid. His wife exclaimed how 'surprised' she was to see this occur right before her eyes! Being a stickler for accuracy. Webster never missed a beat and responded, "No Madam, I am surprised.
