What is the market for RE Agent Commissions right now?We are about to list our second property bought at a Trustee Sale. What is the market for RE Agent commissions right now? I know standard is 3% to buy and sell side agents but if we can show some upcoming inventory as well as planning on pricing very competitively to move the properties fast is approaching an agent with 1.5-2% sell side commission a bad idea? I'm not looking to try to strong arm anyone, but I thought I'd see what the board had to say. We'd plan on paying the full 3% to buying agents (but just recently I heard that paying 2.5% buy-side resulted in the same sales price averages...any comments on this?) Also, anyone use Redfin to list? They are getting a TON of traffic and a lot of the prospects on our first property came from that site. They have a fixed pricing model ($5,000 I believe) After saying this I still believe that if you find someone good you should pay them well and you'll make more money in the long run...but I just thought I'd stir the pot and see what came up.
