Saying what "standard" commission is has been one of the things Realtors won't talk about. Price fixing idea. So, I have no idea what anybody charges. It's all a mystery. My own personal practice will vary depending on several factors. I pay 2.5%, hardly ever vary from that. If the property is priced right, any more is lost without benefit. If I want to appeal to a certain type of agent, I'll offer more (again, read Freakonomics).

That's about all I can say. I want to keep my precious license for a few more years.

Good luck,
Mark
