Re: Do any of you guys stage your homes when selling? In Reply to: Do any of you guys stage your homes when selling? posted by Billy Jean on November 09, 2009 at 11:56 PM : I'm about to put a vacant foreclosure property on the market and wanted to see if you guys thought the added expense of "staging" the home added to your bottom line. Do any of you guys stage or do you just price it right and sift through your offers? : If you do stage, do you have a pro staging company do it, or do you do it yourself? : Thanks!
In the kitchen: a tea towel and a couple of other decorative items. In the bathroom: towel, wash cloth, and a knick-knack on the toilet tank. Above the fireplace or on the mantle: small item, maybe a basket of silk plants. In the dining room I have a good quality folding table with 3-4 folding chairs. This is useful in several ways: the table holds promotional materials, I use a chair during open house, and clients use the table and chairs during negotiations. If there is a patio I might use small cafe table and a couple of chairs. These are so amall they are almost non-functional. While showing a property I make sure that every light in the house is on. And after clients wander through the house turning off lights, I come along behind them and turn the lights back on. Dond
