Just for the record though - one of the main reasons I am a real estate investor is so that I can make lots of money (I live in a $3M house, have a new BMW 7, a Mercedes SL500 and I travel to Europe 3 times a yr), is so I can have plenty of free time to doodle and be able to do such things as write long posts on interesting web forums. The comparision on lack of land and Japan v. the LA area - this area is a magnet for the weather and other factors - from the world over, unlike Japan. I think the market will be flat overall for while but no significant decrease at least in the LA area, and if you are waiting for that your already missing out on opportunities that are already there.
