How to buy the 'right to redeem'

Posted by Barry on February 27, 2002 at 11:17 AM

: If you had the right to the title of property after the expiration of the right of redemption (certificate of title) and also bought up the right to redeem the title prior to its cancellation date, then no one could redeem against your right to title acquired at the auction sale. Since no one could possibly redeem against you in that case you should be able to convert your certificate of title into the actual title right away.

How does one go about purchasing the 'right to redeem'?
What are the costs? Is it negotiated?
Thank you in advance.
