Re: TENANTS IN COMMON/PROBATE QUESTIONSIn Reply to: TENANTS IN COMMON/PROBATE QUESTIONS posted by BILL on March 28, 2004 at 9:28 AM : I RECENTLY PURCHASED 1/2 EQUITY IN A HOME. THE HOME WAS OWNED BY A MOTHER & DAUGHTER AND VACATED. THE DAUGHTER HAD LEGAL PROBLEMS AND SOLD ME HER HALF. THE MOTHER DIED SEVERAL YEARS BACK AND THERE ARE NO LIENS ON THE HOME. THE DAUGHTER HAS NO RESOURCES TO CONDUCT A PROBATE AND HAS APPARENTLY LEFT THE AREA. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT I WOULD NEED TO DO TO HAVE FULL OWNERSHIP. THANKS. How was title held between the mother and the daughter. If it was in joint tenancy, this is easy. If it was held in tenants in common, you have a more unusual problem but not insurmountable. I am a probate/real estate lawyer and maybe can point you in the right direction. So we are clear, since this posting is on Ward's website, I WILL NOT take the case. Follow Ups: Post a Followup:
