Newbie will have lots more questions...In Reply to: newbe has a question posted by so_cal_jim on February 20, 2004 at 5:42 PM : I have been reading here for 3 weeks or so and would like some help. There is a home in bad condition with a red no trespassing sign and a notice of eviction on it. Being Friday night I thought I would start first thing Monday. My plan is call the title company, get a property profile and find the owner, and determine what incumberances are in place. Then I will find out what is in the rears and offer to pay their losses and their note off. The home looks bad from the street but fixed up I could sell it for $385,000. I'm not getting ahead of myself I'm just looking for a blue print any help would be apprciated. : so_cal_jim =============== Jim, Your post describes a vacant house in need of repair. It may not be in foreclosure. It may be free and clear of any liens. So you need to research the title record of the property at your county recorder's office to determine current ownership and what liens, if any are against it, and then if any of the liens are in foreclosure. You might as well check out the state of the property taxes too. When you get all this done this Monday you will have a much better idea of the options open to you. Hope this helps.
