Purchase of right of redemptionIn Reply to: MN--redemption period posted by msmith on February 16, 2004 at 2:50 PM
: Hello, : But I can't find mention in MN statutes about assigning redemption rights; is this a contract-law thing available in all states? Does a quitclaim do the same thing? Any info will help; thanks! ================= M. Smith, Draft a simple Agreement of Sale of Right of Redemption. If you find it too tough just go to your local law library and copy a standard Agreement of Sale out of a legal forms book and modify it for the sale of the ex-owner’s Right of Redemption. You might visit the Sheriff’s office to ask if there’s a standard for buying the Right of Redemption from the ex-owner.
