Shop around now, before the sale...In Reply to: Tax Sale and Title Insurance? posted by Travis-CA on February 12, 2004 at 10:38 PM : Does anyone have any recent experience with tax lien sales and obtaining title insurance? I have heard some rumors that title companies will not issue a title policy for at least 3 years after the transaction is completed, even after a successful quiet title action. If the above is correct, does anyone have any ideas to get around this? Or know of any particular title companies that are more desirable to work with in these situations? Normally I would not pursue the tax lien sales, however a particular property of great interest to me happens to be scheduled for auction. : Thanks : Travis Travis, Get with your favorite title company and inquire if they will issue title insurance for this deal. If not, start shopping around now to line up title insurance beforehand. If you can’t arrange it before the sale then pass on the deal. Hope this helps.
