: We noticed in public records there was a foreclosure in our neighborhood, but now learned that the owners filed chapter 13 bankruptcy. Is everything put on hold now? Meaning the home will not go to auction? Thank you.

======================

Deborah,

Yes, everything’s on hold temporarily. The property won’t go to auction until the lender has been able to convince the Bankruptcy Court to give it relief from the automatic stay that protects the owner’s property from creditor actions, such as foreclosure.

Hope this helps.
