: I just went checked the fiscal years of some of the banks I see getting sandbagged with properties. Chase, National City, Bank One, Wells Fargo, CitiFinancial, Bank Of New York... All of them have fiscal close on Dec 31. Looks pretty common in banking, to close with the end of the year.

If the fiscal is closing dec 31, then I guess its year end.. :-)
I know this much, lenders will fund loans easier on year-end, not that they will give anyone a loan, but they will overlook little issues on pending loans just to get every dollar closed.
