: Has anyone encountered issues with insurance cos and THT?

: We bought a house in a THT and now the insurance company canceled the policy due to the place being "non-owner occupied".

: A) How do they find this out?
: B) Is this a common matter?

: Thank you.

JK,

The fact that the property’s title is held in a Title Holding Trust (THT) is not relevant to the cancellation of your insurance policy.

Your insurance policy was canceled because the insurance company found you in noncompliance with the requirement that the property be owner-occupied.

(A). You were probably found out by a random check, where the occupants were questioned by phone or in person, or the utility bills were scrutinized and failed to match up with your name.

(B). I wouldn’t say this type of cancellation happens very commonly.
