Nobody else is in your shoes, and nobody has any right to judge you. You may still want to contact someone to liquidate the property. Even if you have no equity at all, with the right person in charge, you may still be able to avoid a deficiency judgment. And, a satisfaction of mortgage, even a short-pay, would look better on your record than doing nothing at all. I'm in MI, but I do not work in that area.
