Thanks for the education. : Patrick, : A title company wants to foster positive feelings about its integrity, fairness, honesty, etc. Usurping a customer's prospective advantage would be devasting to a title company's reputation and ultimately its business prospects. : Who in their right mind would ever use a title company with such a reputation?? : No, I don't think you have anything to worry from that quarter. : 1. Unless the title company is also doing the escrow for your transaction they wouldn't be asking for such documents. Normally all the documents the title company needs it would get from the escrow officer. : 2. Yes, title companies base the cost of their title policies to the sales price of the underlying insured property. : 3. Generally a title company won't want to know anything that's not germaine to the sale transaction.
