Forfeiture of a Life Estate?In Reply to: Life Estate posted by SeanW on September 11, 2003 at 7:13 PM : Saw something out-of-the-ordinary this week. There's a foreclosure on a 1997 trust deed, for a property granted as a life estate in 1994. : Since the deed of trust is junior to the life estate, would a buyer of that foreclosing DOT only own the property, for the life of the grantee? If the foreclosing trust deed included the signature of the holder of the life estate then her interest would be forfeit at the foreclosure auction. Follow Ups: Post a Followup:
