: Ward, if there is "equity to be found" when a 2nd is willing to sell at discount... but the owner isn't showing any interest in selling, would you buy the 2nd anyway? Do you think reinstating a 1st and persuing your own foreclosure, is worth the hassle?

=====================

Sean,

Yes, I might go after the 2nd if the amount of equity up for grabs at the discounted 2nd's position is high enough. That's the determinative aspect as to whether it's "worth the hassle" to force a foreclosure of the 2nd.
