Try using a landlord attorney...

: I've purchased a preforclosure property using an EPA, got and recorded the Grant Deed on June 19th. The previous owners were to have been out on the 1st of July. As of today 7/14/03 they are still there along with tons of useless junk. I've given them a 3-day notice to quit. There is lots of stuff with no value still in the property. Can I change the locks and take possession of the property? What's the worst that could happen if I do that?

Mark,

At this point you need to have a landlord attorney file an unlawful detainer and get rid of the occupants legally.

Self help actions like changing locks and forcibly taking possession will get you in a lot of expensive grief. So don’t do that.
