What you missed is that Gonzalo bought the foreclosure property pre-sale. So the occupants aren’t post-sale holdover tenants and thus not subject to the post-sale vacate rules.

So now you know “why the 60 days”. But if you’re not convinced, just read up on the new (began this year) 60 day notice requirement that CA now requires an owner give a tenant in the instance of a “no cause” notice to quit.
