Not your problem any more...In Reply to: un-married redemption posted by Alex Leonard on June 28, 2003 at 8:36 PM
: We purchased redemption rights from one defendent prior to foreclosure. Boyfriend who was also on the mortgage was in jail for beating the girlfriend whom I purchased rights from. Boyfriend now feels that he should have gotten half the money that was paid to her. Attorney in charge of the foreclosure said one signature was enough apparently reasoning was they were not married. Is this a gray issue or is it black and white? Alex, I think it’s a matter between the two people on the mortgage, not you. At this point it’s not a problem you have to contend with.
