::The THT is known as a directional holding trust. That’s because the trustee is unable to sign any document that affects the title or equity of the trust’s property without the express, written direction from the majority of beneficiaries-in-interest to do so.

I'm glad she asked this question now. I had thought the only way to execute a JBB was with yourself as trustee-- this explains how a JBB can (initially) have the trustor as trustee while the loan is brought current. He only has the "appearance of control".
