Please be very careful--there may be junior loans for which you could become responsible.

: Is it possible when a NOD is filed to contact the lender, make an offer to pay off the loan and now own that position? Once in that position, because I paid off the default amount, am I free to foreclose?

: How does all this work?

: I guess my question goes to why the lender goes all the way to sale and the bidders at the sale don't go to the lender beforehand and purchase it.
