Re: Help finding a Title Co. in CAIn Reply to: Help finding a Title Co. in CA posted by Eric - CA on September 09, 2001 at 10:23 AM : I have called several title companies and none of them want to insure foreclosed titles. Am I describing how/what I am buying to them incorrectly or are there just very few that will actually do this? They all talk about the extra research they have to do, make sure notices are sent properly, etc. and that their legal departments don't want them to do it. : Can someone please give me suggestions on who/how to get title insurance for a property bought at a foreclosure auction in California. =•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•=•= Eric, wait until you have an insurable transaction, such as a refinance or resale and then insure with the likes of Fidelity Title or First American or Chicago Title. I’ve never had problems getting title insurance on the hundreds of deals I’ve flipped and I probably used most of the title companies around in doing it. But it was always a refi or resale transaction. Good luck.
